Dreispitz-Miniatures - I gave up the trade

Hi,

I´m sorry, but I decided to give up the trade with my own figure range "Dreispitz Miniatures".
So it´s not possible to order those figures any more.

I made this decision due to busy work within my main job.

Running an own range means to release different figures permanently and that´s not possible for me at the moment.

I thank you for your interest into my figures.

Cheers
Mike

SYW - French Army - Dragoons Apchon - WIP

Manufacturer:  FrontRank
Scale:  28mm

Hi,

parallel to the unit of Austrian Grenzers I´m also painting on a French Dragoon Regiment called "Apchon".
Here is a link to Kronoskaf.com for further information.

These are the photos I made today.
I apologize for the quality.
I took them in my cellar and the light is not very good there.

The following pictures show my gaming table that I integrated into my man cave.
I had the inspiration to place my already painted figures with some terrain in order to display a small battle.
So this is only a display for fun and not a review of a game.

A view over the battlefield

The Austrian Regiment Wied-Runkel is trying to march over the bridge.

Behind the bridge there is a French battery waiting for the Austrians and also a regiment of French infantry.

The French reserve.

The French battery fires at its opponent as they reach the bridge.

Regiment Loudon is assisting the attack over the bridge and is involving the French Regiment La Sarre standing next to the bridge into a firefight.

The French volley.

Here another perspective of the volley.

On the right flank the Nádasdy Hussars are trying to get over the river´s ford while the enemy´s second battery is shooting at them.

The second French battery hidden behind gambions.

The Austrian Commander in Chief is watching his brave troops.

Austrian Grenzers firing from the woods at a French regiment near the ford.

The Hussars´ attack under fire.

The French Dragoons covered by woods waiting for the Austrian Hussars in order to attack them in their flank.

Though the pictures are not optimal I hope that they work well to give an impression of the display.
Even if there is no time to play a wargame it makes fun to arrange the figures on the table.

This always inspires and motivates me to paint up the missing figures to complete the unfinished units.
It is great to see how the units grow on the table.

Cheers
Mike

SYW - Austrian Army: Karlstädter-Lykaner Grenzinfantry - WIP Part one

Manufacturer:  Crusader Miniatures
Scale:  28mm

Hi,

in order to strengthen my Austrians for the SYW for the rules of "Maurice" and "BlackPowder" I decided to paint up a unit of Grenzinfantry (frontier infantry) which often had been used as skirmishers during war.
The regiment I chose is Karlstädter-Lykaner with red coats and trousers and sea green dolmans.
I like those combinations of colors very much for they are not typical for the Austrian Infantry of the times of Maria Theresia.
If you like to know more about these regiment here is a link to the great sites of kronoskaf.

On the following two photos you can see my first figure for this planned unit.
As I already told you within the headline of this post this regiment is WIP.

The unit I want to built up is planned to exist of twelve men in total, based on four bases with three figures each.
This is the basing of "Maurice" for irregular troops.

And last but not least here is a picture of the regiments of the different Grenz-regiments that I found in the books of Liliane & Fred Funcken.

Enjoy our hobby and have a good time.

Cheers
Mike

Shipment of Dreispitz-Miniatures worldwide

Hi folks,

I recognized that a lot of followers of my blog do come from outside Europe.
On my website I mentioned not to send figures to other countries than to the members of the EU.
This has been changed.
But the costs of shipment differ because they also depend on the weight of the parcel.
For parcels weighing up to 500gr. the costs will be 5,50 € (including insurance), for parcels weighing up to 1kg the costs will be 9,05 €.
I don´t think that there will be heavier parcels at the moment.
Costs for toll have to be paid by the customer.

So if you like to order figures please send a mail to

dreispitz-miniatures@t-online.de

Thank you very much.

Cheers
Mike

A trip to the CRISIS in Antwerp

Hi all,

the weekend has gone and we (Franz, Walter and I) had three days of real wellness for men including gaming, buying a lot of things for our hobby we (might) need some times, drinking beer, having fun, visiting the ArmyMuseum of Brussels and telling a few dirty jokes :)

On friday we started our tour to Antwerp there we got late in the evening.
The show on saturday showed us that the long trip was worth it.
A lot of traders and a lot of gaming tables.
Wow!

I would like to show you why the convention was "Wow!" but I forgot to check my camera.
So as I wanted to take the first photos the energy had been down.
Sh... Sorry for that.
I promise for better performance next time. ;)

But if you like to see some photos here is a link:

Today I took some photos of my treasures from CRISIS (after recharging that damned camera).
The first three pictures show the lots of terrain I got there.
In the centre you can see some streets that are very flexible.

As you can see I´ve bought a lot of palm trees, too.
These are just for my planned Japanese Army for OperationSquad.
The next picture shows the figures and paints I bought for that.
The book is from the museum´s store of the ArmyMuseum in Brussels.

And here the figures I bought for my favourite period, the SevenYearsWar, especially for the French&Indian War.

I couldn´t resist to buy some magazines, too.

And here is a picture of the figure every visitor got at the entrance.
A very nice miniature sculpted by Paul Hicks.

This had been a great weekend and we will be at CRISIS in 2013 for sure.

Cheers
Mike

SYW - Bavarian Soldier of Regiment Minucci

Figure:  Dreispitz Miniatures
Scale:  28mm

Today I´m posting a test figure for the Bavarian Regiment Minucci of the SevenYearsWar.
I want to paint this regiment as one of the next units for Maurice.
The figure is one of my own range "Dreispitz-Miniatures" and so this was a double test
 - painting my first Bavarian soldier and also painting my first own miniature.

The Bavarians fought on the side of the Austrians against Prussia and took part in the battle of Leuthen. But they also saw a lot of action on other battlefields of this war, too.
Further information about this Regiment and also about the whole Bavarian Army can be found here:

I would like to apologize for the bad quality of the pics.

And here are some more photos setting the figure in scene.

Cheers.

Mike
