I don´t have to work for two weeks and so decided to visit an exhibition about WWI in the Bavarian Army Museum in Ingolstadt, the famous bavarian city where the cars of Audi come from.
Ingolstadt is almost exactly between Nuremberg and Munich.
Maybe if somebody of you will visit the Oktoberfest in Munich a trip to Ingolstadt could be also a good idea.
It will take about an hour or 80 kilometers from Munich to the north.
The Bavarian Army Museum consists of three parts, the first one (that I visit almost every year) is within the castle of Ingolstadt, where you can see old uniforms, flags and also some dioramas with flats.
The biggest one shows the battle of Leuten of 1757 with 17.000 figures (if I remember correctly).
Another part is the Turm Triva (tower Triva) but I have to apologize for I don´t know what can be seen here exactly.
The third part is the Redout Tilly, a part of an old fortress, where the exhibition about the Great War is shown for several years.
I haven´t been there for years - the last time maybe about ten years ago.
Here is a photograph of the flyer telling about the Army Museum and of course also a lot of pictures concerning the exhibition about WWI.
Hope you´ll enjoy them.
Cheers
Mike
