"Spielwarenmesse 2024" in Nürnberg - Part one - A visit to William Britains Toy Soldiers

Manufacturer:   William Britains

Scale:   1:30 (60mm)

Hi again,

Nuremberg is known as the "Toy Town" of former times as it had a lot of manufacturers of flat tin figures, and other toys. Nearby Nuremberg is the town of Fürth that also had a lot of manufacturers and even today there are some well known companies having their head quarters and production in the surrounding of Nuremberg and Fürth. "Playmobil" should be the best known of them.

So in tradition of being the former toy town every year there is the international toy fair or "Spielwarenmesse". Normally there is only access for dealers, but about two or three years ago an "Open Day" was installed, a day there also public customers got access to a special part of this fair. It is the part of model trains and model kits.

As I am a member of the the facebook-group "William Britain Toy Soldiers Collectors" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1188698377865519), I got the information that this manufacturer will present his figures at the "Spielwarenmesse". So it was a clear decision - I had to go there.

My friend Thomas and I went to visit this fair and we got in conversation with Mr Kenneth A.Osen, the General Manager and Creative Director of "William Britains". He also introduced us to Mr Ted Deddens, the Manager of Operations of "William Britains". It was a very nice conversation with a lot of things about the hobby, collecting figures, almost every stuff our hobby includes.

It has been a perfect day.

There will be two posts about the "Spielwarenmesse". The first one is dedicated to the figures of "William Britains"

If you like to - here is a link to the website of "William Britains" showing all New Releases and also the complete ranges.

For further information about "WBritains" I searched YouTube and found several videos dealing with this manufacturer. Here are just two of them:

I hope you´ll enjoy this parade of finest toy soldiers. I still enjoy it very much.

Cheers

Mike
