SAGA - The Crescent & The Cross - WIP - Part 7

Manufacturer:  FireforgeGames
Scale:  28mm

Hi,

I hope you all had a nice Christmas and had been able to enjoy it with your family. :)

After three days of visiting Mittersill in Austria I got back to my painting table today and had the chance to finish these three guys for my Hospitaller Knights for "SAGA - The Crescent & The Cross".

Just four more of them carrying spears and a 1-point-unit is ready for action. I´m looking forward to paint them during my holidays.

The guy on the left side got ready on December 23rd - so the first half of the warrior unit is finished.

Cheers

Mike

Hobby in general - a box for photographing my minis

Hi all,

No, this is not a post about another project I´ve just begun. There is still enough to do on my prussian hussars and also on my hospitalian knights.

This post is concerning about a wooden box I´ve built for setting my minis in scene before photographing them. Why a box? - I hope that it will give more light for the pictures for they are often too dark or too shady.

So yesterday I bought me some boards and a light to get started.

Here is the result. In my opinion the light is not good enough at the moment and I consider if it would become better if I just would add two more little LED´s in the two corners of the box.

The box is not finalized yet. The background is missing for I want to have a sky with some clouds there. I have to search for a poster or something like that but until now I haven´t found a fitting kind.
Also the ground has to be prepared with sanding and some paint.

Here are some pictures of a first setting. It shows some samurai with two 4-Ground-houses I bought on TACTICA in Hamburg I think two years ago.

A bargain for I got these seven nicely painted figures for seven Euros at the show.

This picture is made without the light of the box but by using the flash of my camera.

Also only by using the flash of the camera.

And a third try without the light of the box.

Using the light of the box.

The Buddha and the tree are also from TACTICA.

The inside of the smaller japanese house.

The same house from another view.

The inside of the larger house.

And here is also another view from the inside.

Cheers

SYW - Prussian Army - Seydlitz hussars - HR 08 - WIP - part three

Manufacturer:  WargamesFoundry
Scale:  28mm

Hi all,

my third post within one week - I hope to be able to bring the next post to you soon :)

This time I finished my marker for the Seydlitz hussars, the unit I want to finish next for "Maurice".

As I told you in my last post I want to jump between the two current projects - my Prussians for "Maurice" and my hospitalian knights for "SAGA - The Crescent & The Cross".

Setting the figure in a small scenery.

In the background you can see a single rider of the 7th hussars.

Cheers

SAGA - The Crescent & The Cross - WIP - Part 5 - First knight on horse

Manufacturer:  FireforgeGames
Scale:  28mm

Hi again,

though I haven´t finished my SYW-hussars yet I decided to jump between the projects just to have more diversity and not to paint 10 figures or more of the same uniform.

Sitting in my man´s cave painting figures I always get aware of some other figures I want to paint for different projects. I think this is a phenomenon everybody of us knows.

So I remembered that I started an army of hospitalian knights. Some of the riders stand unpainted next to my painting table and I wanted to paint just one of them.

I love cavalry but I don´t like to paint horses very much. But I have to say that the more horses I paint the more I enjoy it.

And here is the rest of the small hospitalian army.

Cheers

Mike
