Our weekend full of things to do for a wargamer´s joy - part two
after part one dealing with the CRISIS in Antwerp I´m posting part two showing photos of our additional trip to the battlefield of Waterloo.
The Wellington Museum in Waterloo. |
There are some plates showing the different phases of the battle. The audioguide explains the phases very good. |
Lord Wellington in the chamber he stayed before the battle. |
A lot of interesting dioramas.... |
....and also funny pictures. |
A model of the Lion´s monument. |
Next stop was at the battlefield itself. |
Walter seems to like the French GuardGrenadiers. |
The Lion´s monument in original. |
There is also a cinema with short films about the battle and also scenes from the famous movie of DinoDeLaurentis. |
Outside the cinema there are some pictures showing Reenacters. This event must be very interesting to look at in 2015. |
There is also a house showing a panorama-artwork. In the same house is a very nice model of Hougomont. |
A part of the panorama-artwork. Unfortunately my camera was only able to take this single photo before it ran out of energy. |
If you ever have the opportunity to visit Belgium or the CRISIS it is really worth a trip to the battlefield of Waterloo.
We had a lot of fun and maybe we can manage to be there in 2015 to have a look at the celebrating of its 200th anniversary.
Cheers
Mike

ReplyDeleteLooks great and too bad I missed out on the trip. Hopefully next time I'll be able to go.

That would be great. Maybe we could have a look at the battlefield of Minden on our trip to Tactica in 2014.

Hallo Stefan,
Michael
