Hi, :)
today´s post is about an upcoming game of SYW some friends and I want to play on July 9th 2023.
I just placed the gaming table today and we never had such a big sized gaming table in my cellar - 4,20m length and 1,20m deprh. Space enough for four players to place the armies comfortably.
We want to play SYW - Prussians against Austrians.
Walter´s Prussian army will content:
8 units infantry (24 men each)
2 units of light infantry (12 men each)
2 units of Cuirassiers (12 men)
2 units of Hussars (12 men each)
1 unit Cossacks (12 men)
1 unit of Bosniacs (12 men)
3 pieces of artillery
My Austrians will bring the following units to battle:
5 units infantry (24 men each)
4 units infantry (20 men each)
4 units infantry (16 men each)
1 unit Croats (15 men)
3 units of Hussars (12 men each)
2 units of Dragoons (12 men each)
2 units of Cuirassiers (12 men each)
5 pieces of artillery
I again couldn´t resist to place my Austrians on the table just to check the size of the table. It will fit, I am sure.
In lack of having the Prussian army for taking some more fotos I decided to place my French army as Franz and I will play a smaller test game to remember the rules of Field of Battle using Austrians against French.
Having placed my French army I got aware that I will need some more units for them. I think that three more infantry units and six units of cavalry and another three pieces of artillery will make a good reinforcement.
My French army so far:
9 units infantry (20 men each)
1 unit Dragoons
2 units of artillery
This upcoming battle is going to be epic, placing about 450 figures of infantry, 168 figures of cavalry and 8 pieces of artillery. I hope not to forget taking some pictures for another post on my blog. :)
Cheers
Mike
