Toysoldiers - Two "Celts" from Russia

Manufacturers:   unknown

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hi,

I have found some interesting and very nice painted figures on ebay that do fit perfectly to my small collection of Rome an its enemies.

The figures are from Russia, maybe St.Petersburg, and one has a graving on its base saying "HM". But nobody was able to tell me more about this manufacturer. I even don´t know if these figures come unpainted or painted like JohnJenkinsDesign or King&Country. I guess that they do come unpainted because I have seen the same figure with the hog on the standart a second time on ebay but painted in different colors. But I am not really sure for there are also some figures within the ranges of JohnJenkins that have the same pose but are painted differently.

My question about the manufacturer in a facebook group was answered that there are a lot of manufacturers from Russia making small ranges so it is rather difficult to find out about these special makers. And I was also told that the figures aren´t really historical as especially the Russian manufacturers often refer to illustrations of the 19th century that are not correct.

But in my opinion both figures look very good for the painter, whether a collector or painter from the manufacturer, did a terrific job. And let me say it in the words of Ridley Scott: "Have you been there back then?"

Cheers

Mike
