Hi,

as my favorite period of warfare is the SYW it is no wonder that I also try to get some SYW related figures for my collection of toysoldiers. But this is a hard way. There are only a few manufacturers having produced figures for this period.

There is for example a range of JohnJenkinsDesign called "The battle of Leuthen" that I have already published within a post in 2023 (Link to the former post). This manufacturer has also a lot of ranges concerning the FrenchIndianWar. Though this also belongs to the SYW in a kind I am talking about figures that represent the fightings on the European theatre. These are not wide spread, often hard to find and if you have been lucky to find them they are too often bloody expensive. Concerning "The battle of Leuthen" I was lucky to get the figures from a collection´s liquidation.

Another manufacturer that has produced some figures for the SYW as toysoldiers is FirstLegion. Very detailed and excellent painted figures but they also belong to the most expensive ones. So my collection of these figures is still small and the figures I already have would not have found their way into my collection if I hadn´t got them for very good prices.

The one range of figures I have managed to complete is the Russian Artillery of the SYW,

Toysoldiers - Newest additions to my collection

Hi again,

today´s post is about my newest addition to my collection of toysoldiers scaled 1:30. I bought them on eBay for very good prices as some of these items had been sold half of their original price. Lucky shot. :)

The only thing was that I had to wait a longer time to be able to unpack the figures. I had to go to hospital for two weeks and my release had been yesterday. So guess what had been one of the first things to do after my arrival at home. ;)

The figures I bought are all from JohnJankinsDesigns and are some good reinforcements for the ranges I am already collecting. 

I was able to get at least two further figures for my collection of Rome and its enemies. A gallic cavalryman and a mounted Roman General. So my collection of "Little Alesia", as I call it, now looks like this.

My "Little Alesia" so far - a mixture of mainly JohnJenkinsDesings, some King&Country,
FirstLegion, Kronprinz Toysoldiers and some figures from a Russian Manufacturer I don´t 
remember.

... who commands a very, very small unit of Roman Cavalry. I have to point out that these figures
are always produced in limited numbers. Some of the ranges are hard to get for good prices. So it
will take me some years to increase the collection.

... so my collection of the range of "The Battle on the plains of Abraham" so far looks like this.

The last figure of the reinforcements had been this guy. Though I don´t collect the range
"The fur trade" this figure was half of its normal price. So it was no doubt to get it. 

And the figure fits perfectly to the Roger´s Rangers of my existing collection. Maybe he was a
trapper hired for scouting acions or something like that. Who knows? :)

Toysoldiers - "Tyrolean Rebellion" by PianoWargames - Just three more figures painted

Hi,

just painted up at least three more figures for my collection concerning the Tyrolean Rebellion. The figures are all from PianoWargames, created and owned by Lucas Luber. The figures are normally scaled in 28mm and as you maybe have seen in a former post I also use them in this scale for my project of "Shakos and Bayonets". But I also scale them up to 60mm in order to integrate them into my collection of toysoldiers.

It is always fun to paint these figures and I think they came out quite well.

At the moment I am searching for a perfect way to display the figures. There are two empty shelves within my two bigger showcases left and so I gave one of them to the topic "Tyrolean Rebellion". As the collection is growing it is not very clever to build a final layout at the moment. So the arrangement is kept modular to be able to change it to the collection´s needs.

I also posted these figures in a group on facebook and was asked how they fit to Napoleonic figures of other manufacturers like King&Country. I recognized that the only Napoleonic figures I have within my collection is the range of Napoleonic Soldiers by DelPrado. I don´t have Napoleonics from my other preferred manufacturers. So you will find some pictures of my selfpainted Tyroleans next to the ready painted figures of JohnJenkins, King&Country, DelPrado, TeamMiniatures, FirstLegion, ConteCollectibles and WilliamBritains. Though only DelPrado is the right period of warfare I recognized that the figures of PianoWargames do really harmonize with all of the other manufacturers.

I was lucky to find some very suitable trees on eBay.

The Bavarians will need some reinforcements, too.

One of my two bigger cabinets for my figures. As you can see there is still 
a lot to do.

The second cabinet with the last empty shelf. But I am sure this one is going
to be filled with figures soon. It´s the choice between one more shelf for
FIW or at least one for AWI.
