Toysoldiers - King&Country - British Army in the "American War of Independence"

Manufacturer:   King&Country

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hi,

As you all know in 2026 there will be the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the AmericanWar of Independence. So I thought it was time to set my British Army from the ranges of King&Country into scene.

I was lucky to find the mounted officer last week on eBay and got it for 22,50€. The seller told that the horse´s tail was broken. But when the figure arrived yesterday I recognized that the miniature not only had a broken tail, but also must have fallen down some time. The base was also damaged, the figure was crooked and at some areas the paint was chipped off.

So I had to bend the figure straight, to repaint some areas and to glue the tail at its place.
Remembering the price of the figure this little invest of repairs was worth it. Included to the collection the damages won’t be seen.

Merry Christmas to everyone and a happy new year with a lot of time and fun with our hobby.

Cheers

Mike

Terrain for Wargaming - "House in a box" created by Gerard Boom aka "Shiftinglands"

Manufacturer:   GeBoom aka "Shiiftinglands"

Scale:   28mm or also 20mm

Hi,

Just wanted to share this video from Gerard Boom on YouTube. Gerard has designed a series of very nice foam buildings he called "House in a box". These houses will come as kits. So anyone can build very cool looking buildings for wargaming in 28mm or 20mm without using a foam cutter by himself.

I like the creations of Gerard very much and it is always impressive to see what this guy has in mind and what he already did and still does for the complete community. For me he is a incredible master mind in foam modelling. He developed a series of tools to make working with an Proxxon foam cutter much easier. He builds fantastic creations and everything he does looks so easy, but if you ever tried to do the same things, you will recognize that to reach these skills needs a lot of practice.

The new series of "House in a box" is announced to be released in December. I am sure that I will order at least three of four of these houses.

Cheers

Mike

Toysoldiers - JohnJenkinsDesigns - A comparison of the older and new versions of Roger´s Rangers

Manufacturer:   JohnJenkinsDesigns

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hi,

one of my favorite manufacturers concerning Toysoldiers is "JohnJenkinsDesigns".

I like this company because of the ranges they offer for FrenchIndianWar and for their style of miniatures.

One of these ranges is called "Raid on St.Francis". It is an older range and JohnJenkins decided to give some more figures to it - especially some more versions of Roger´s Rangers. Here you can find some more information about "The Raid on St:Francis".

The new versions are a bit more filigrane and the faces are a bit smaller. But the older and the new versions do fit perfect in my opinion.

So here they are.

Cheers

Mike

The force of my collection of Roger´s Rangers so far. A mix of the old and the new versions

The "old" versions. Not complete as there are still some poses missing. I especially like the three
guys sitting next to the barrels.

The new versions. Again not complete.

A comparison of the new versions (figures 1 and 3 from left to right) and the older ones
(figures 2 and 4)

Toysoldiers - "Tyrolean Rebellion" by PianoWargames - Newest additions

Manufacturer:   Piano Wargames

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hello to the followers of my blog.

Today´s post is again about some additions to my collection of 60mm Tyrolean Rebels.

This time the additions include one of the leaders of the Tyrolean Rebellion - the Capuchin priest Johann Simon Haspinger.

The other two figures are another Capuchin priest and a drummer. The last one was a real challenge, but it came out quite well.

I have been working on this projects for many months now. Always with longer interruptions. But meanwhile I was able to paint up at least sixteen Tyrolians, one single Bavarian light infantry man and one lonely Bavarian Dragoon. All in the size of 60mm.

While arranging these miniatures for a quick photo shooting I realized that the Bavarians will need some support soon. :)

Cheers

Mike

The newest additions.

Another Capuchin Priest

My version of "Little drummer boy" :)

Haspinger is calling to arms.

And this is the force of rebels that followed Haspinger´s call by now.

Two brave Bavarians fighting the Tyrolean rebels.
