Toy Soldiers in 1:30 - some more JohnJenikins Woodland Indians

Manufacturer:   JohnJenkinsDesign

Scale:   28mm

Hi again,

This week I got some more WoodlandIndians for my collection of 1:30 ToySoldiers of the FrenchIndianWar that I just had to set into scene for a small photo-shooting. :)

The moduls of terrain and also the trees are normally used for 28mm wargaming so it could be they appear a little bit too small. But in my opinion it has done its work.

There are a new canoe and also three new fierce warriors. Due to the fact that I only have three British soldiers in fighting poses the scene shows a real masacre. Poor Redcoats.

More to come about this project. :)

Cheers

Mike

Seven Years War - my actual French Army

Manufacturer:   FrontRank and Crusader

Scale:   28mm

Hi,

this post is about my actual French Army of the SevenYearsWar. It consists of 9 units infantry (one unit has to be increased from 16 to 20 men - next on my personal to-do-list), one unit of dragoons and two pieces of artillery.

Unfortunately they never have been on the wargaming table so far. I hope that a friend of mine, collecting Prussians is in the mood for gaming SYW soon :)

To be honest I only painted the two artilleries and three units of infantry by myself (2x LaSarre, 1x Rouergue). The other units all had been painted by a friend from Hungary. I love his way of painting and I always have troubles with painting large units. I like to paint up single figures but large units are a personal horror. The thing I did was the basing.

My aim is to have at least 12 units of infantry, 2 units of light infantry, 6 units of cavalry and 6 pieces of artillery. So there is a long way to go, but I want to have this army in a equal number to my Austrians.

Here are some pictures of my French Army.

Cheers

Mike

Manufacturer:   FrontRank

Scale:   28mm

Hi again,

today´s post is about three civilians suitable für SevenYearsWar, FrenchIndianWar and AmericanWar of Independence.

I have painted them about a year ago and I didn´t do that at home, so they are not surrounded by any terrain.

New figures painted for DeadMansHand - including my father "Johnny Guitar"

Manufacturer:  I don´t remember all of them

Scale:    28mm

Hi,

today I am posting some figures for the rules of DeadMansHand which I have painted from November to December last year.

The Cowboy with his guitar has his own story. My father has past away on May 6th in 2017. So it is now almost exactly six years ago.

He had been a musician and used to call himself  "Johnny Guitar", often playing with a Western hat on his head. I always thought it would be a great idea to have him as a miniature on my gaming table. Not as a part of a gang but as what he had been - a musician.

I have searched for WildWest figures playing a guitar and having a big belly and had the chance to create a suitable figure on the website of   http://heroforge.com

I bought the stl-file and printed the figure. After having painted the figure I have built a stage for the model and also started to paint up some more civilians to have an audience listening to my father´s music.

Now every time we are gaming DeadMansHand my father will be placed within the WesternTown and will be remembered once more.

Cheers

Mike

Log cabin made from foam for 1:30 ToySoldiers

Manufacturer:   DIY

Scale:    1:30 - suitable for 60mm figures like JohnJenkins, W.Britains, King&Country ...

Hi,

today I am posting some pictures of a log cabin I made by myself from foam for my collection of  1:30 ToySoldiers for the FrenchIndianWar. There is a chimney missing, but I recognized this after its finish. So this will not be a log cabin for the soldiers but could be used as a storage cabin or magazine.

As the original houses of the ToySoldier ranges are often out of stock or could be bought for quite a lot of money I decided to build one by myself and I had a lot of fun building this. I am happy with the result.

The last three pictures just show parts of the next buildings I am trying to build. There is one palisade and the start of a watchtower. The palisade is finished but not painted yet as I want to make a mould to cast it and make more of them.

Cheers

Mike :)

JohnJenkinsDesign - SYW - Battle of Leuthen

 Manufacturer:    JohnJenkinsDesign

Scale:    1:30 - 60mm figures

Hi again,

it has been a long time since my last post. I would like to post more within a few days and also would like to post at least one article in my blog every week. This did not work for a long time, but I hope that I will be able to achieve this aim.

So the next upcoming posts of me are not the actual status quo and the topics have often been quite a long time ago.

Today the post is about my efforts on completing my collection of JohnJenkins miniatures concerning the SevenYearsWar, especially the "Battle of Leuthen". I managed to complete this range in September 2022.

This is the only range of JJD dealing with the SYW in Europe. But there are several other ranges about the FrenchIndianWar that are also on my list to collect.

Cheers

Mike  :)
