Hi,

just a short post about a small side project of my collection - The Second BoerWar.

I have bought these figures just a few years ago and didn´t know exactly how to present them better than putting them on a shelf of my showcase. There are only a few figures I have in my collection concerning this conflict and so the figures looked quite lost on the shelf.

From my collection for wargaming I have built a plate 2x2 feet a few years ago in order to use it for the rules of DeadMansHand. But this piece of terrain doesn´t really fit well to the other terrain pieces. So I will gonna use it for placing my toysoldiers representing the Second BoerWar on it.

Toysoldiers - A visit to "Hadriansvilla"

Hi again,

Yesterday I managed to visit a German dealer for Toysoldiers of the manufacturers "FirstLegion", "JohnJenkins", "TeamMiniatures", "King&Country" and "ThomasGunn".

The company is called "Hadriansvilla" and is placed in Böblingen near Stuttgart. (https://www.hadriansvilla.de/index.html). That´s about 210 kilometers away from my home but the trip was surely worth it.

The owner of this company is Marcus Heiß-Hasala who I met about three years ago at the "Internationale Zinnfigurenbörse" in Kulmbach in 2022. He is a very friendly guy and his prices are very fair. 

After the release of the French SYW-Regiment Lally by JohnJenkins I decided to order these figures from Marcus. For I had at least one week of vacation I asked him if there is a chance to visit him and have a look at his own collection. And of course to pick up the ordered miniatures. He agreed and I want to say thank you for a warm welcome. I enjoyed the visit very much and it has been a pleasure to talk about our shared hobby.

One thing we discussed was the actual tax policy of Donald Trump concerning China. As most of the manufacturers are producing in China the taxes will rise the prices for these kind of toysoldiers in the US for sure. I have read in a post on facebook that prices have increased already. Fortunately there is not a trade war between Germany or the European Union and China by now. So we hope to be lucky to get the figures to the usual prices.

Here are some pictures concerning Marcus´s collection. 

The first thing he has shown me must be his personal highlight. This showcase of TrenchWarfare in the GreatWar is about 4x4 feet in size and is placed within the living room on a table. It contains a lot of WBritains Trench sections and a lot of figures from all kind of manufacturers. Though I am not a collector of the GreatWar (maybe Australian Lighthorsemen could make an exception some day) I have to say that this showcase was overwhelming. Lots of figures lovingly arranged and real eyecandy. The pictures do not reflect the impression in the approach.

All kind of manufacturers have found their place on this great display.

A truck transporting troops by a smaller former British manufacturer that I unfortunately forgot.

That´s the kind of detail I like very much. The top of the Trench section can
be removed to show another detail of the diorama - in this case an
improvised hospital.

One of the shelves of Marcus´ collection with a lot of tanks - he has specialized into the Ardenne offensive.

I like these Romans very much. If I am right these are ThomasGunn Miniatures.

I suppose the collection is representing every single tank of the German army during this campaign.

A very impressive lineup of Napoleonic Highlanders. 

The death of Gordon Pasha. Reminds me to watch "Khartoum" once again soon.

Also very impressive to see the accessories for collecting toysoldiers. 
These palm trees look awesome. Also the gate of the town wall is brilliant.
