Muskets and Tomahawks - Reinforcements coming by boats

 Manufacturer:    RedoubtEnterprises

Scale:   28mm

Hi again,

after a busy day of working in my home office I was rewarded by the postman bringing me some reinforcements for my FIW-project using the rules of "Muskets and Tomahawks".

A friend of mine paints a lot of figures for me as I am a very slow painter and the pile of shame is enormous.

So today a package of his latest paint job arrived and I am really excited about the result.

We already had a game with British forces landing on the shore and trying to defeat a French fortification. But these had been simple boats with figures within. The game looked great, but I wanted to get it perfect dreaming of models of landing boats bringing British grenadiers to their landing point as it happened in the night of September 12th in 1759, the night before the battle of the Plains of Abraham.

So the boats from RedoubtEnterprises had been a "must have" for me to give the gaming table a better look for the next upcoming landing scenarios.

Thank you Krisztian for doing such a great job on the figures.

Muskets and Tomahawks - The finished trading post and its keelboat

Manufacturer:    Trading post - do it yourself           Keelboat - Sarrissa

Scale:    28mm

Hi,

after having shown some pictures of my selfmade trading post and the modified keelboat a few days ago, that still lacked paint I am posting some pictures from the finished models today.

Now both models are ready for their first admittance and action in our games of "Muskets and Tomahawks".

Cheers

Mike

Muskets and Tomahawks - Some new figures for my gaming table

 Manufacturers:  NorthstarMiniatures, RedoubtEnterprises, Madox3DDesign

Scale:  28mm

Hi again,

Seems to be that I have to do another post about some of my latest works. :)

Today I am posting some pictures of some figures I painted up within the last two or three months.

As you can see I am a very slow painter and I also must be inspired and in the mood for painting.

But the result is not too bad I think. :)

Cheers

Mike

JohnJenkinsDesign - Reinforcements for my collection

 Hi again,

Today I am posting some pictures of my reinforcements for my collection of ToySoldiers and especially of my favourite manufacturer JohnJenkinsDesign.

I always had a great fable for toy soldiers. I had TimpoToys, Airfix, Matchbox, Elastolin and much other stuff. So it is no wonder that I once fell in love with the figures of JohnJenkinsDesign for they also do cover my most beloved period of time - the FrenchIndianWar.

I love to place the figures on my shelf or in my showcase just to put an eye on them while passing through my gaming room. It is not a cheap part of my hobby so the collection is not fast growing. And I must say that it is not easy to find these figures here in Germany. Having a look on ebay from time to time there are not many distributors offering the models to moderate prices. You can find several offers from the States but the costs for delivery are enormously.

About two weeks ago a collector from Germany posted within the Facebook-group of JohnJenkinsDesign that he would sell some parts of his collection of the FrenchIndianWar-series "The battle on snowshoes".

He offered them to a quite good price and so my collection was increased by at least 22 new figures.

Though I am always searching for these figures I am sure that it will take time for a upcoming deal like this. :)

After the arrival of the figure I placed them on a white shelf with some stones and trees from my terrain of tabletop gaming just to take some photos of the figures in action. My hanging showcase does not have the space to create a kind of dioramas for the figures. But maybe sometimes I will buy one or two bigger ones. Till then my toy soldiers will be placed within the hanging showcase and will make me smile every time I look at them.

Cheers

Mike

Muskets and Tomahawks - Building a trading post and modifying a keelboat

Manufacturer:    Trading post -  do it yourself       -         Keelboat - Sarrissa

Scale:    28mm

Hi,

again it has been a long time since my last post on this blog. To be honest I published several posts on facebook because it is much easier, less time consuming and also much faster.

But I also thought that I should give my blog a kind of revival. So I will try to do also some posts again here on this platform.

Today I am posting some pictures of my last work for my collection of FrenchIndianWar.

The idea was to build a small trading post for fur trades between Canadians and Indians and this idea came up after I had painted up some Courier de Bois for my favourite rule system "Muskets and Tomahawks".

After having build the loghouse I remembered that I had bought a keelboat from Sarrissa a few years ago. This model is quite nice, but im my opinion there is missing the typical structure of wood. So I decided to modify this model and give it a kind of look that would fit better to my collections´ style.

So here is the result. I am sure both models will be very cool terrain pieces for several scenarios in gaming. :)

Both models still need to be painted, but this will be a matter for a further post.

Cheers

Mike

Both models ready for action and set in scene.

The first visible construction of the trading post.

I love my buildings to be able for playing inside them...

...and to have functional doors.

The modified structure of the house after I had decided to give a flat roof to the building.

Building the roof itself.

-
A very time consuming work.

The result after minimum five hours of constructing.

The roof on its place.

Adding some ropes.

The keelboat in its origin.

After some planks added.

And again - I like my models playable inside...

...and with movable doors.

The keelboat after modification.

And finally some pictures of setting the models into scene.
