Visiting Historicum in Schmalkalden - Part 1 of 2

Manufacturers:   JohnJenkinsDesign, King&Country, TeamMiniatures and many more

Scale:   1:30 (60mm)

Hi,

last year my friends Franz and Sebastian and I took a trip to visit the museum "Historicum" in Schmalkalden, Thuringia, Germany. (https://www.zinnfigurenmuseum.com/)

If you have followed some of my last posts you maybe got an idea for my fable for toy soldiers scaled 1:30 (60mm). So this museum has been a must for me to have a look at. And this won´t have been the last visit - that´s for sure.

The museum is run by one single person and Stefan has been collecting more than 20.000  figures of that scale through all periods of warfare. Not to mention all the buildings that are setting these figures in scene. The museum ist 400m² large and the owner has bought another house to give more space to the collection. Keeping in mind that this is all done by one single person it is very impressive.

I have taken a lot of pictures there and I decided to make two posts about this museum, one dealing with the Ancients and Middle Ages and another one concerning the other periods.

If you want to visit this beautiful museum be assured that you will be overwhelmed by the immense number of figures.

Cheers

Mike
