Lion Rampant - First mounted Templar Knight from Victrix

Manufacturer:   VIctrix

Scale:   28mm

Hi,

just a short one.

I finished my first mounted Templar Knight from the new Victrix box. They are fun to paint and I used a figure from TeamMiniatures as a sample for the colors. Came out quite well in my opinion.

So - another 17 knights to paint to get at least three mounted units for the ruleset of "LionRampant".

The models are already built, primed and also have their first following colors. Hope to get another two or three ready this week.

Cheers

Mike

Toysoldiers - A Templar Knight to be used as template for my 28mm figures

Manufacturer:   TeamMiniatures

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Manufacturer:   Victrix

Scale:   28mm

Hi again,

this post is a mixture of different scales and also different collections.

I have bought the new Victrix 28mm mounted knights in order to paint them up as Templar Knights for gaming the rules of "LionRampant".

Just as an inspiration and also as a template I got me a Templar Knight from the ranges of TeamMiniatures. I love the color scheme of this figure and want to paint at least one unit of  my Templar cavalry in this style.

Maybe I will do the other units in their completely white clothing. But I guess this will look a little bit boring. I will have to think about that.

Cheers

Mike

Lion Rampant - Motivated for painting more figures

Manufacturer:   GamesWorkshop

Scale:   28mm

Hi,

highly motivated by the last few games using the rules of "LionRampant 2nd Edition" I just had a look at my pile of shame and found "some" figures that I started painting several years ago.

I have some old GamesWorkshop Bretons in my boxes. Ok, they are not really historic, but they are looking great and have a little flair of Hollywood. I´m not a fan of Warhammer, but I like the Bretons from the ranges though their headgears are extremely overloaded.

This post is about one of these figures that I finished this week. I painted up two further mounted knights in the same color scheme some years ago. They fit quite well. :)

My thought is to increase this unit up to sic mounted knights in the same color scheme so that it can be used as heavy or elite cavalry in "LionRampant".

Cheers

Visiting the "Internationale Zinnfigurenbörse" in Kulmbach 2024

Hi,

today´s post is a short one with some pictures from the "Internationale Zinnfigurenbörse" in Kulmbach, Bavaria, Germany. This event happens every two years at the second weekend of August.

In its origin it used to be a fair for flats and within the years it became a fair for almost every kind of lead figure you could imagine - flats (of course still a lot of them), toysoldiers, kits of lead soldiers, manufacturers of terrain, a lot of books dealing with the hobby, brushes and paints and so on.

The first few pictures are dealing with a German manufacturer who makes really impressive an highly detailed 3d-printed wagons or cannons for different ages of warfare. You should visit his website. You won´t regret it.

Also very interesting are the figures from HagenMiniatures. They have a very good range with very special themes in 1/72 scale.

I hope you all enjoy this little tour.

Cheers

Peipp-figures are a little bit bulky but their special style is also beautiful. Unfortunately they are out of production. This manufacturer was located in Dresden, Saxony, Germany.

The market stall of Saimextoys from Italy.

The block houses had been very interesting to use them for the rules of Muskets&Tomahawks.

Guess about the person who reserved those five British fusiliers - :):)

A lot of Historex figures for a very good price - but not my point of interest. Maybe the Prussians on the right in the second row.

Figures in 1/72 from HagenMiniatures

It is always nice to take a look at the high quality painted flats.

Of course it´s not Vercingetorix, but it is Montcalm. The text belongs to the figure on row above.

Toysoldiers - Newest additions to my collection

Manufacturers:    JohnJenkinsDesign, King&Country, TeamMiniatures, ConteCollectibles, FirstLegion

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hi again, :)

this post is about my latest additions to my collection of toysoldiers. I had been able to find some good items on ebay and also at the "Internationale Zinnfigurenbörse" in Kulmbach in August this year.

I apologize for the bad quality of the photos for they are sometimes very glossy.

But I hope you will enjoy this little photo tour. :)

Cheers

Mike

Major Rogers of the Rogers Rangers - a very nice figure from ConteCollectibles.

I found him on ebay and he will get some comrades for sure.

First Legion Miniatures are probably the best painted figures compared to other manufacturers.

I am always looking on ebay for good offers.

I got this figure from TeamMiniatures at our visit to "Historicum" in Schmalkalden.

So now the range of Italian Bersaglieri for the BoxerRebellion is complete.

JohnJenkinsDesign - a retired item I was able to find in Kulmbach.

Also a find in Kulmbach.JohnJenkins BritishGrenadiers of the FrenchIndianWar.

The Wigwam and the Grenadiers integrated into the display.

JohnJenkinsDesign - also Kulmbach

On his right - two Gallic warriors from King&Country.

Integration of the Gauls into my really small collection of Romans and their enemies.

JohnJenkinsDesign again - some British fusiliers marching (also Kulmbach)

You cannot have too much soldiers on the march.

JohnJenkinsDesign - a found on ebay

Here they are with their comrades of set #1.

Finally a Wigwam from a German manufacturer - I don´t remember his name, sorry.

It fits perfectly to the toysoldiers.
