Toysoldiers - New recruits for the collection

Manufacturer:   JohnJenkinsDesign

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hi,

since the last few posts had been very full of pictures here is just a short one. :)

Today I got some recruits for my collection of FIW-JohnJenkinsDesign.

They all belong to the range of "Battle on the Monongahela" and one of them shows the French Captain De Beaujeu who was able to persuade his Indian allies to combat the British forces only by taking off parts of his regular uniform and by clothing like an Indian warrior. This action impressed and motivated the Indians for joining the French soldiers.

De Beaujeu was one of the few casualties the French and the Indian warparty lost at this battle and it is told that he also had been one of the first casualties aswell.

In the end the British force had been really massacred (456 death and 421 wounded) while the FrenchIndian force suffered about 40 casualties.

Cheers

Mike

Soldiers of the British 44th Regiment of Line.

Some fallen Grenadiers of the same regiment.

This picture gives a vision of how the ambush could have been with the British trying to hold their firing line in open terrain...

...while the FrenchIndian allies shot at them being in cover.

  2. Those are superb looking figures. I am always reluctant to buy casualty figures unless I am planning to do a display diorama.

    1. Thank you for compliments. I hope to be able to have enough figures to make a display diorama of the "Battle on the Monongahela".
