this post is just to give a short impression of the club I am a member of. The club is called "VfZ - Verein freie Zinnfigurensammler" and there is a meeting in Nuremberg every first friday of the month.
Here is a link to the website of this club.
It is always a nice meeting of like-minded people having fun collecting and also painting lead figures, not only but mostly flats. Talking about the hobby and history is very cool and intensive there and there are always members who show some of their stuff, telling stories about the shown figurines or units and their history.
The next pictures show the displays of the last meeting.
Cheers
Mike
Selfmade figures scaled 40mm sculpted by Matthias Manske in the old style. I really like them. Matthias does a good job on them. |
The different Kings and Emperors of the Hohenzollern. |
A very good paint job on these playing kids. |
Also very nice - flat airplanes of WWI. |
An exhibit of my daughter - she got it from a collector as she likes horses - like almost every girl. It was already painted. The figure is from the saxon company of Peipp. |
Some napoleonic Bavarians that I displayed that evening. More about them is to come within one of the next posts on this blog. |
Lovely photos Mike, I always enjoy seeing pictures of flats, they always look so tempting but I think my modest painting skills would never do them the justice they deserve!
