Muskets&Tomahawks - Supplement "Shakos&Bayonets" - Tyrolean Rebellion

Manufacturers:   PianoWargames, Victrix, Chicken´sTabletopCrafting

Scale:   28mm

Hi,

it is still a long way to get my forces ready for my Tyrolean Rebellion project that we would like to game after the ruleset of "Muskets&Tomahawks" using the supplement "Shakos&Bayonets".

There are some more figures on the workbench that have to be varnished and also the basing needs some more "tuning" with tufts and things like that.

And of course - some more figures still have to be painted, especially more Tyroleans.

Until then the already finished figures will be kept in a small diorama within my IKEA-Billy-shelf for some motivation to keep on the project.

The figures on the pictures are from different manufacturers. The Bavarians are Victrix while the Tyroleans are from PianoWargames. The two buildings are from "Chicken´sTabletopCrafting".

If you like to get further information about the Tyrolean Rebellion and also about Andreas Hofer, who led the Rebellion, just have a look at the following links to a very good docu on YouTube. Unfortunately it is only in German.

The second link shows the storming of Innsbruck taken from the movie "Andreas Hofer".

If you like to have a look at the complete movie (also only in German) follow the next link.

But I also found a shorter documentation concerning the Tyrolean Rebellion in English:

This rebellion is not very well known but in my opinion it would be very nice to play some games dealing with this topic.

Cheers

The Tyroleans from PianoWargames have been painted by me.

  1. Some brilliant looking figures. It's not a war that I know much about? I'll check out the links provided, thanks.

  3. The Tyrolean rebellion is quite fascinating, and those Piano Wargames figures are top notch. I haven't painted mine yet, but do have a bunch of the Eureka Tyrolean figures all painted up.

    1. Hi Gonsalvo,
I have only seen Eureka Tyroleans on the web until now. But I have some of their Saxon Infantry for the SYW. In my opinion these are a bit too small compared with SYW ranges of other manufacturers, but they do look great.

  4. Here's a link to my Eureka Tirolese: https://blundersonthedanube.blogspot.com/2019/05/tyrolese-army-in-review.html

They mix fine with my existing figures, which are mostly Foundry, Old Glory, and quite a few Minifigs. They would be small compared to Front Rank or Perry, but fine in their own units

I have some of the Piano Wargames Tyrolean figures to add to them myself!
