Toysoldiers - "The Jacobite Rebellion" by JohnJenkinsDesigns

Manufacturer:   JohnJenkinsDesigns

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hi,

I was able to resist starting to collect the range of "The Jacobite Rebellion" for many years.

But last week I found these four guys for a special price and temptation got too strong. So I got them for my collection.

JohnJenkinsDesigns had released this range several years ago. The range did not see any new poses for a couple of years and one year ago (or so) the company decided to pick up this range again by releasing some new additional figures.

The four guys in this post are from the first releases of the range and their faces have a kind of comic style (that I love). The newer miniatures´ faces are sculpted finer but fit to the earlier ones.

Unlike collecting the ranges of "The Battle of Leuthen" and "The Battle on snowshoes" I won´t start hunting for this range to get it completed very fast. If there is a good offer on "Jacobites" on eBay or on  websites dealing with toysoldiers  by chance I surely will try to get them. But I won´t search the web for missing figures until I found them and buy them from all over the world like I did with the other two ranges.

Posting my newest additions of figures within a group on facebook I was told that these figures also have some "detail" under their kilts. I didn´t know about that and also couldn´t believe it. But it´s true. So the manufacturer has worked very precisely on the appearance of Highland Clansmen in 1745. The last photograph within this post will proof this. :)

Cheers

Mike

Highland Charge

JohnJenkinsDesign set no. JR-03 comes with two figures.

JohnJenkinsDesign set no. JR-08.

This picture is from the website of JJD showing the first releases of the range.

A very nice painting I found on the web.

Very detailed figures - even in places you wouldn´t expect.
You also won´t normally see this special "detail" while placing the figures within a diorama. :)
